A Season In Hell #19: Stood Up

So it would seem that John Hell is not the sexy guy everyone was telling him he was.

Nope.

Not at all.

This week's show was going to be about SEX. That's right, SEX. But the sexologist I had booked, came down with a cold the size of one of those bulbous condoms, that are "ribbed for her pleasure". So I'm doing the show sans guest tonight.

That means more music and more commentary from yours truly. And since the New Hampshire primary is tomorrow, you know I'll be talking about that tonight. I also went to see Eric Mcfadden on Friday night, and DAMN he was so good. And relevant too. You know who I'm talking to. That's right, you folks who got out of the Social D show, and complained about the cover at the Boom Boom Room. Get a life. So yeah, I'll be playing some of him too.

A Season In Hell #14 Ready for Download

Wow! What a great time I had interviewing Mermen bassist Allen Whitman last night. He is so damn funny and interesting, that I promised him midnight would fly right up on us. It did.

Take a look at my blog, http://hellkatt.blospot.com, where you can see the playlist and find the link to download last night's show.

Enjoy.

Pirate Cat Radio, Week Four, with Chicken John

Hello radio fans,

Tonight on A Season In Hell, with John Hell, I'm pleased to have our future runner up for the SF mayor's race, Chicken John Rinaldi. He'll be bringing his whimsy down to the Pirate Cat Radio studios in the 9 o'clock hour to talk all things mayor, art, innovation, greenwashing (just what exactly is that anyway?), and to burn the many early, or not burn the man early, what is the question?

Check out his website http://voteforchicken.com He calls me a legend. Ha!

Tune in on the radio in SF and LA at 87.9 FM, in Berlin 104.8FM (Guten Abend Berlin), and online at http://piratecatradio.com

Chicken John Will Get The Matching Funds

Hello world, this is Lev (suddenly Chicken's campaign manager and co-conspirator). I have some incredible news to share.

You, the great collective you of the Chickensphere, heeded our plea for help. We've spent the last 24 hours hitting up everybody we know, watching the total inch toward the magic number and wracking our brains about who to call next and how to make it happen. Aleta, Goddess of the Spreadsheet, worked like a Hero of Soviet Socialist Labor to get all the scraps of paper, checks, Paypal contributions and loose change together. And in the 59th minute of the 11th hour, you came through and brought us over the top, to a grand total of $26,371.21 in eligible San Francisco contributions for Chicken's race for mayor. That's the documented sum of money that we brought to the Campaign Office at 4:45 this afternoon.... you should have seen us, racing down Van Ness in the limo VW bus, folders crammed with arcane documents and forms, sweating, exhausted, Rob Levy driving like a maniacal cabby to get us there on time. We scrambled up the steps into the warren of offices... and met the press! Reporters from the San Francisco dailies were there, waiting for us like it's the Bay to Breakers finish line. Read in the news tomorrow, baby. As far as we know, only Tony Hall also made the cut, but he's Republican or Republican-like... so in reality, it's Chicken vs. Gavin on November 8!

Pirate Cat Radio, Week Two

So I should have known it was too good to be true. My first show at Pirate Cat Radio (http://piratecatradio.com) proved to be a fine one, with many lessons. The best part was hosting the wonderful and humble Scott Beale, of Laughing Squid (http://laughingsquid.com). He was kind enough to post some pics from the show. Take a look here: http://laughingsquid.com/a-season-in-hell-on-pirate-cat-radio/
Yeah, that’s me. I need a haircut.

The lessons were numerous. First, get the keys. I showed up at the station an hour early, but no one was on the air. I had to drive to get the keys. I showed up with 15 minutes to spare. Secondly, get a working doorbell, or at least a cell phone that works. The ringer and vibrate on my phone don’t work, neither does the station door bell. Hmm…. Finally, don’t bring so much damn music. That one will be the hardest. I may have reached for that one. You can never bring too much music.

Awesome fundraising event: Monday night, 6PM at the SUNSET HOUSE

From our next Mayor, Chicken John

On the corner of 25th street and Alabama, in San Francisco's Mission district is a building. It's actually an idea. An idea whose time may just have come. It may actually be early. This idea of a building is called: the Sunset House.

Back On The Radio Tonight

The time is drawing near. The stage has been set. The
curtain is about to rise. Wait, I better not build
this up too much. I might live to regret it.

Hmm...

Get ready for the extravagent, amazing, astounding
return of John Hell to the airwaves, that left him
high and dry like Henry Miller on a drinking binge.

Francisco
and Los Angeles, and online at
